CBS Sport Handball Men 1 wins their first match of the season

CBS Sport Handball had Sunday, October 4 a couple of matches to play. One of those matches was the male CBS Sport series 1 team. In the season premiere, we were playing against Hvidovre 3 – a bunch of old men who undoubtedly had played together for many years (slightly grey-haired and fat).

CBS Sport Handball’s male side has this year introduced a lot of new players and after 4-5 practices, it was hard to expect a fluent and fast game. But surprisingly, we played very well. After a good 15 minutes with a concentrated defence, nice assist passes to the line player and impressive goalkeeping the score was 9-4 in favor of CBS.

Temporarily the match turned around and Hvidovre put 2 line players on the court – which resulted in a disappointing halftime score of 12-13. Second half was more equal – both teams wanted the win and the match was very close. With 7 minutes left we looked at each other and agreed to put a little momentum. From a score of 22-23 we ran them over and when the final whistle sounded, the score was 28-25. A great team effort which resulted in a well-deserved victory – and a good start to the season.
