Volunteers are awesome! – Jeppe Svendsen
In CBS Sport we say
Volunteers aren’t paid – not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless!
Therefore, we’ll bring you a short interview with a volunteer here on our website once in a while to honor the people who makes an effort for the club. We hope you will follow*.
This time you will meet Jeppe. He has been a volunteer in CBS Sport for almost 2 years and is coach for the women’s football team.
What is the best thing about volunteering for CBS Sport?
The social aspect of the club is rather special in my eyes.
There’s a great sense of camaraderie within the football department and in the club as a whole, with the amount of support shown at matches across the teams being a good example.
The general focus on making CBS Sport a good place to be a volunteer is also a big factor for me.
What do you do in your main time?
I’m currently working full time as a project manager in the IT department at CBS, whilst finishing my masters in economics at the University of Copenhagen.
Tell us three facts about yourself
- I’m a “vendelboer” (born in Vendsyssel)
- I hold the virtual title of Scarab Lord
- I’m an avid ABGT listener
With which words would you describe CBS Sport?
Social, engaging, fun, challenging & ambitious
Question from the last awesome volunteer: What are the main challenges in being a volunteer for CBS Sport?
The women’s team, and the football department in general, has gone through an evolution in the time I’ve spent in the club. It’s been challenging to manage growth and ambition with the history of the club and the players who’ve been in the club for several years.
Another long standing challenge for the football department is pitch availability. Managing and planning practice for up to 25 players on a quarter pitch can be quite difficult but we always manage to get the best out of the situation.
Dealing with 35 young women is a challenge in itself as well – but I won’t go into that 🙂
