About the finalists

(freely translated from DBBF’s homepage)

For Horsens IC it will be a cup final on home soil in Forum Horsens, and Forum Horsens will probably be filled with Horsens fans. It is the first time since 2007 that Horsens IC is in the cup finals, and if they win, it will be the first trophy title since 1995.

This is the first cup final for Randers Cimbria. In the semi-final last year, Randers Cimbria was knocked out by last year’s cup winner, Svendborg, in a high dramatic overtime battle. You can see highlights from the match here. In this year’s final, Horsens awaits. When the two teams met in September, it was a narrow 5 point victory for Horsens. Since that match, there have been changes in Randers’ team, so it will be interesting to see how the two teams match up.

In the ladies’ cup final it is BK Amager and Stevnsgade meeting: Last BK Amager was in a cup final was in 1988 when they lost to SISU. In 2015, they will again see the chance, this time against Stevnsgade. On their way to the final, Amager won against both Falcon BMS and Aabyhøj. In the final, Stevnsgade awaits. When the two teams met earlier in the season Stevnsgade took the victory, so the cup final is an obvious place for Amager to take revenge.

Stevnsgade has reached the cup finals six times before, and won four of the six. A fairly good statistic. The last cup final victory was in 2001 where they beat Herlev/BMS in the final. Stevnsgade reached this year’s finals by beating SISU in the quarterfinals and Lemvig in the semifinals.
