CBS Sport Football Women ends no. 1!

As Herlev wasn’t able to assemble a team for the final match on the 29th of March, CBS Sport was given a 3-0 victory meaning a goal difference of 17-4 and six victories and one draw.

The matches

The first match of the tournament, was in February, where Nørrebro United awaited. Coach Jeppe informed us that Nørrebro United “breezed through series 2, having just reopened their 11-a-side teams this fall, and as a result we will also be facing them in the spring season”. This meant a bit of awe, but also an excitement to see how our team would perform against a seemingly good team. The match ended in a 2-1 win and a great start to the Winter Tournament!

Valby was up next and having played them a few times with both a terrible defeat and later a “goal show” victory, we knew more or less what to expect – and that the match result would be all up to us. In the winter tournament match, CBS Sport got off to a awful start, but fortunately soon controlled the match and got a 2-1 victory. Against Bagsværd the team got to see how they functioned in a week match with a bit of transportation as well – and it was quite a party; CBS Sport dominated and only one of the young Bagsværd players got close to goal. Fair to say though, the Bagsværd keeper made sure that the end result wasn’t more than 4-0 in favor of CBS Sport.

In the 4th match, Lyngby Bk was up. They play in SBU at a level equal to Københavnersserien, whereas it would be a good indicator of whether we really deserve that promotion that we believe in. Furthermore Lyngby Bk. was at the time a close second in the table, scoring a lot of goals.. Unfortunately the match ended 0-0, but with both good offensive play and a prove that we’re ready in the defense for the better teams as well.

The next opponent, AB Tårnby, is a team we know fairly well – and we know that we have to play our best to avoid defeat. The match turned out to be quite exciting, as CBS Sport came ahead 2-0, then it was 2-1, then 3-1, then 3-2 – but it all ended happily ever after with a 3-2 victory!

What should’ve been the second last match, ended up being the last match – but it was a good match to end with; 3-0 win against Birkerød, clean sheet (giving Astrid the best GK statistics on the women’s side ever) and a saved penalty.

We of course expected to get some more goals in the final match against Herlev, but a 3-0 desk victory is what it could become. This means that Caroline and Lisa got a shared topscorer title, and Malle, Caroline and Laura can now call themselves among the best to give assists for goals.
