Today the 7-a-side team really showed it’s worth, as the ones not picked for the 11-a-side match tomorrow was given valuable time on the pitch, and only Cecilie and Hansen was among the ones going to play 11-a-side tomorrow.
1st half
CBS Sport struggled a bit with getting things to work like they wanted and FC Sydhavnen had some good runs towards goal – but as always the defense was standing firmly.
Ellen had her debut today, and did excellent in the middle – had a bit of hard time playing full time, but kept it up for almost all 60 minutes!
The goal came in the last part of 1st half, where Brini took a throw in with the instructions: “Julie! Go towards GOAL!” – Julie followed the instructions perfectly and managed to put it right in! 1-0 for CBS Sport, and Brini with a throw in assist!
Julie continued her great running up in front, trying to cover the two defenders when FC Sydhavnen had goal kicks, and even had another great chance where she ended up one on one with the goalkeeper who unfortunately got her knee on Julie’s shot.
2nd half
In 2nd half, Julie got subbed for Rhieanne, who continued the good running on the top.
Only about halfway through the 2nd half, Rhieanne had a great run towards goal, but was taken down from behind by an opponent. The referee (and the spectators) had no doubt: a yellow card and 5 minutes expulsion.
Unfortunately the free kick and the five minutes in majority didn’t paid of, and just a few minutes after the FC Sydhavnen player had returned to the pitch, Lisa managed to take down a FC Sydhavnen player resulting in the same sentence: yellow card and 5 minutes out.
CBS Sport managed to keep FC Sydhavnen away from goal – despite their high pressure and fortunately enough; poor finishes.
The match ended 1-0 in favour of CBS Sport and CBS Sport remains in the top!
In retrospect
Is was great to see, that even though the players today aren’t used to have full playing time, we managed to keep our opponents away from our goal and make that crucial score that secures us the 3 points! Well done!
