Rugby Men’s Player Awards
Rugby mens player of the year has been voted in and the winner has been found.
The player of the year is Andrea Scaramuccia!
Andrea who comes from Italy originally started his Danish rugby career with Copenhagen Scrum RFC now called Copenhagen Wolves RFC. He did however play with CBS on several occasions during the development years as all matches were friendlies. When Copenhagen Scrum started to experience low membership problems and dropped out of the 2nd division several of their players came to the CBS pack.
Andrea has always been a determinded forward and showing up for the majority of trainings. For CBS he usually plays prop, a position he doesn’t like. He prefers to be eightman and he finally got his chance against Hundested where he was able to use his powerful runs to bash through Hundested defenses. In this match he was named man of the match which was well deserved.
CBS Sport Rugby men wants to congratulate Andrea with the award and hope to have him in the team for many years to come! Thank you Andrea.
Rookie of the year
As rugby is an relatively unknown sport in Denmark, CBS praise new members who are willing to challenge themselves and learn to play this sport! We therefore honor the best rookie of 2010.
The race was close with Simen and Heini running for the award but the winner is Mikkel Wedervang!
Mikkel first took up rugby in the spring of 2010. After just a few weeks of training he played his first match as second row against Hamlet II. In this match his potential was obvious and his determination at practice is the highest among all members. It has proven fruitful as Mikkel is now in every starting lineup playing as Flanker. Mikkel is a dedicated and very fast for a forward, he also received many votes for player of the year. Unusual for a beginner.
Congratulations to Mikkel! We hope to see you develop further and take the team to higher levels.
