The match
Due to injuries, and late cancellations, the team went from 15 players, to 13 players, to 15, and then back to 13 players..
The first goal came only 10 minutes in. Despite good play from CBS Sport, Fremad Valby got the lead on bad defensive work; Their first corner, went straight for Callie at the edge of the penalty box, but as she was unable to clear it and the rest of CBS Sport stood passively by, Fremad Valby could easily poke it in.. 0-1..
Fortunately it didn’t take more than 10 minutes, before CBS Sport got the equalizer; A corner from Laura was passed by Pernille with a heel to Kathrine who scored! 1-1!
Fremad Valby had a few chances, mainly based on deep balls towards goal or fast runs through the defense – but nothing that wasn’t managerable by the CBS Sport defense.
CBS Sport had some chances, but mainly good play in the sense of good passes and triangles up the pitch.
In second half, CBS Sport had several good chances, and Fremad Valby was starting to look quite exhausted, but the ball just wouldn’t get in the net. Biggest almost-goal was probably Mias shot towards the triangle, that looked so marvellous that no one thought of getting the repost as it ended up hitting the post.. Other notable mentions were a 1v1 with the keeper for Kathrine and Laura beating 4 defenders in the box only to be tackled just before she could get the shot off.
Fortunately a good play up the left side, between Charlotte and Caroline, ended in a pass from the back line from Caroline to Charlotte who finished with a shot from outside the box that went in under the crossbar! 2-1!
Fremad Valby, tried to push forward for the equalizer, but CBS Sport kept them from creating any significant chances.
The aftermath
With two and a half week until next match (25th of February in Bagsværd), Coach Jeppe “warned” the team, that there’ll be focus on things that’ll improve the performance further – stay tuned!
Result: 2-1 (win!)
